With 30 years of experience, Charlie Sturdivant serves as Asset Services Engineering Operations Manager whose primary responsibilities include all aspects of maintenance management and the implementation of preventive maintenance programs for the CBRE industrial, office and retail portfolio. Charlie also oversees Memphis Technical Services and provides technical advice to over 28 building operators and mechanics. He manages the operations staff including training and monitoring performance issues, conducts inspections of all facilities and provides inspection reports, including safety recommendations, is responsible for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching and motivating employees. He works closely with facilities, real estate and project management departments relating to the delivery of services to the client, works with Human Resources to screen maintenance staff candidates, participates in various properties’ budget processes, and provides input and advice as needed. Charlie prepares and manages the technical services budget, is involved in the property transitions process including staffing, facility tours and evaluations, preventive maintenance procedures and planning, and initial property setup.
Charlie began his career in the engineering field as lead HVAC technician at a 12 story downtown hotel. He later worked at One Commerce Square for 19 years serving as Assistant Chief Engineer and was later promoted to Chief Engineer supervising the maintenance team and overseeing mechanical operations for the 475,000 square foot building.
Charlie is an integral part of the CBRE management team, and is key to the successful mechanical operation of the portfolio, as well as maintaining positive tenant relations. He reports directly to Kevin Clarkson, Managing Director of Asset Services, Memphis.
