Johnathan Smith is a Vice President for CBRE Affordable Housing – the preeminent fully integrated capital markets group providing investment sales, investment banking, and debt & structured finance for affordable housing throughout the nation.
Based in Seattle, Washington, Johnathan facilitates the valuation and sale of affordable properties nationwide. His expertise includes the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program as well as numerous Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs such as Section 8. He has been involved in the sale of over 250 multifamily assets amounting to more than 37,000 units with a total real estate value in excess of $2.5 billion.
Prior to joining CBRE, Johnathan spent six years in public accounting as a Certified Public Accountant working in various areas including affordable housing, where he prepared tax returns and cost certifications and performed audits. This background has served him well at CBRE Affordable Housing. He maintains his CPA license in the State of Washington and stays current on industry developments. In addition, he has served as Treasurer on the boards of two local non-profit organizations.
