John and his partners in the downtown Chicago office of CBRE Capital Markets have long-standing relationships with decision-makers at life insurance companies, banks, debt funds, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and securitized lenders. These relationships allow them to create the optimal capital structure for their clients’ investments; providing flexibility as well as a superior cost of capital; allowing their clients to maximize investment return.
John actively raises capital for all asset types including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, and mixed use properties. John has extensive multifamily finance experience as a direct lender for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae debt products. CBRE is the #1 non-bank originator of multifamily debt in the country. Additionally, John has significant experience financing single-tenant real estate.
Since joining CBRE 10 years ago, John has been directly involved in the origination, underwriting, structuring, and closing of 100 transactions totaling more than $2.4 billion. Prior to joining CBRE, John worked at Prudential Mortgage Capital Company where he originated and underwrote first mortgage and mezzanine debt for their balance sheet, bridge, securitized, and GSE lending programs.
