Los Angeles – December 16, 2011 – CBRE, Inc. today announced that Steven A. Swerdlow has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Americas, a new position. Mr. Swerdlow previously served as President of the Western Division, where he oversaw the operations of 46 offices in nine states as well as the Latin America operations.
In his new role, Mr. Swerdlow will provide executive oversight for a number of key areas, including Research and Marketing. He will also continue to have responsibility for the Latin America operations and will assume responsibility for both the Canada and Valuation & Advisory Services operations. He will continue to be based in Newport Beach, CA.

Mr. Swerdlow has led CBRE’s operations in the Western U.S. and Latin America since 2007. Prior to that, he headed the company’s Global Corporate Services business for five years. He joined CBRE in 1990 as New York City market leader and subsequently served as President of the New York Tri-State Region and the Eastern Division. Before joining CBRE, he had a successful career in both real estate development and corporate law.
He is a graduate of Yale University and New York University School of Law.
